If you love vintage three-wheelers and Michigan dune riding, Duneland Throwback is an event you won’t want to miss. On April 25th, 2026, riders from across the Midwest will gather at Silver Lake Sand Dunes for a full day of riding, community, and a classic Dune Ride + Show & Shine.

Hosted at the Duneland Off-Road Center in Mears, Michigan, this event is all about bringing vintage three-wheelers back to the dunes and celebrating the machines that started it all.

This is a vintage three-wheeler gathering, but all trikes are welcome. There are no requirements to enter the show itself—if you’ve got a three-wheeler, bring it out and enjoy the day.

Riding at Silver Lake Sand Dunes

Riding will take place at Silver Lake Sand Dunes ORV Area, which will remain open to the public during the event. Expect to encounter ATVs, UTVs, side-by-sides, and other ORVs throughout the day.

For safety, riders are encouraged to ride in groups, but you’re free to ride as much as you want during the event hours.

Important Riding Requirements (MANDATORY)

Silver Lake Sand Dunes has strict enforcement, and the Michigan DNR checks every vehicle each time it enters the dunes. Make sure your machine is fully compliant before riding.

Required for ALL vehicles:

  • 10-foot tall triangular safety flag

  • Spark arrestor

  • Michigan DNR ORV sticker

  • Silver Lake ORV sticker

  • Parking permit (required for non-residents or Michigan residents without a State Park endorsement on their license plate)

Approximate sticker cost for out-of-state riders is $60–$70 per machine, which is valid for an entire year of riding.

⚠️ Alcohol is strictly prohibited on the dunes. No exceptions.

Age Restrictions

  • Children under 16 are NOT allowed to ride three-wheelers at Silver Lake Sand Dunes

  • Riders under 16 are allowed to ride ATVs and side-by-sides

  • It’s strongly recommended to check directly with Silver Lake Sand Dunes ahead of time to confirm current rules before arriving

Show & Shine: Vintage Three-Wheelers Welcome

The Show & Shine portion of Duneland Throwback is a relaxed, no-pressure vintage display. There are no build requirements—restored, original, or well-used machines are all welcome.

This is about showcasing classic three-wheelers, meeting fellow riders, and keeping the culture alive.
